We make every effort to ensure each property is in good, clean condition upon move in. However, there are times when a minor item or two has been overlooked. The purpose of the move-in inspection is to provide our new tenants the opportunity to “team up” with us to document the condition of their residence upon move in.
The move-in inspection is typically scheduled to take place within the first few days of the lease term. While tenants are encouraged to attend the inspection, we certainly understand that not everyone can arrange their schedule to match the scheduled inspection. If a tenant is unable to attend the inspection, we ask that any questions or maintenance issues be noted in writing and left on the kitchen counter where our inspector can see it.
Once the inspection has been completed, we will mail a copy to the tenant. We advise our tenants to keep their copy with their records because this report will be used to compare the condition of the residence at move out to the condition of the property at the time of move in.
After your move-in inspection, we ask that you make a list of any outstanding maintenance requests in writing and submit it with your first month’s rent. This will help start your residency with us on the right foot. We also ask that you assign one person in your residence to be the “contact” person who reports any maintenance request. This will assist our office in efficiently meeting your needs.
